#8 Turquoise Necklace

Another piece from the #8 mine, this piece was inspired by the bright blue sky today after 5 days of heavy rain. This Turquoise has the coolest patterns!!! Bezel set in thick sterling silver wire and wrapped with silver "rope" with a fine silver ball as an accent. Hangs 2" long from the 2 rings the chain threads through.  Backside stamped with my makers mark and sterling. The stone alone weighs 22.4 cts.  Chain is 18" sterling silver and closes with my signature hook and eye clasp. I gave the silver a dark patina and polished back to show details.   Handmade with love in my Oregon studio. 

NOTE:  Number 8 Turquoise is considered one of the great classic American turquoise mines. It is located in the Lynn Mining District in Eureka County, Nevada, just north of Carlin. The first claim was filed in 1929.
